If successful and unchecked at its
root, the "ZABA" "acquisiton" could be a model
for a new type of financial/banking malversation in the 21st century,
in which gigantic, publicly-traded multinationals, in order to "enhance"
their book values, simulate "acquisitions" of questionably
capitalized companies in small countries with weak oversite/regulatory
mechanisms, in the process forming partnerships with local, criminalized
"elites," which, in turn, are allowed to infiltrate legitimate
Western corporate and financial arenas and markets.
This would prove
to be an imminent danger not only to Western capital markets but
to Western countries' national securities.
